The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals has released two of its key standards for public review and comment.

ANSI/APSP/ICC-11 Standard for Water Quality in Public Pools and Spas applies to public pools and spas operated by an owner, licensee or concessionaire, whether or not users pay a fee.

ANSI/APSP/ICC-16 Standard for Suction Outlet Fitting Assemblies for Use in Pools, Spas and Hot Tubs addresses drains and other suction outlets. This standard is named in the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act, so compliance with it is mandatory. It addresses the production, testing and installation of these products.

Those wishing to review and comment the draft can contact Susan J. Hilaski, APSP’s director of standards promotion and adoption at shilaski@apsp.org or by calling (703)838-0083.
