A new court date was set for Mitch Brooks, former executive director of the National Plasterers Council.

Brooks, who was arrested in 2016 and accused of taking more than $1 million from NPC through fraudulent bookkeeping, goes before a jury March 26.

He was charged with three first-degree felonies, including two counts of grand theft in the first degree of $100,000 or more, and one of racketeering. Brooks and his association management company, Port Charlotte, Fla.-based Visioneering Consultants, were contracted to manage NPC.

Brooks pleaded not guilty. He served more than a year in prison, then was released and placed on an electronic monitoring program. He was prohibited from communicating directly with the NPC.

If found guilty, he would face a sentenced of up to 90 years.
