Do you know which brands your peers across the country use the most?

That’s what PSN wanted to find out when we surveyed 887 pool/spa builders, retailers and service professionals. The study, conducted by Farnsworth, covered 20 product categories, with respondents indicating which brands they are familiar with, which they’ve used in the past two years, which one they use the most and which one they believe offers the highest quality.

In this installment, we cover the inground and aboveground pool-related brands used most and perceived as having the highest quality. For more results in these categories, see our online coverage.

POOL FINISHING MATERIALS, SURFACES, TILE, COPING & COATINGS

Kelley Technical ranked as Brand Most Used in the Midwest, at 25%. In the rest of the country, Pebble Technology clearly dominated.

RENOVATION & REPAIR

In the West, American Leak Detection was considered the highest quality, at 34%. In other regions, Anderson scored highest.

LIGHTING, WATERFEATURES, FOUNTAINS & PONDS

Pentair, Hayward and CMP maintained the same ranking among regions and industry sectors in both quality and highest use.

FIBERGLASS POOLS

Under Brand Most Used and Highest Overall Quality, Barrier Reef ranked fourth nationwide, at 7% and 5%, respectively.

PACKAGE POOLS & VINYL LINERS

Latham carried a great majority in the South, Midwest and West, but scores were tighter in the Northeast, where Imperial Pools led at 23%.

ABOVEGROUND POOLS & RELATED PRODUCTS

In this category, the West was clearly a different beast. There, Radiant scored 50% under Brand Most Used, as did Splash-A-Round Pools.

SAFETY & DISABILITY ACCESS EQUIPMENT

In this category, S.R. Smith maintained its dominance among regions, industry sectors and between residential and commercial specialists.
