Southwest Pool & Spa Show Called Off This Year

Organizers anticipate an in-person event in early 2022.

Despite Texas’ more permissive policies regarding safety against the coronavirus, organizers of the Southwest Pool & Spa Show have decided to cancel the event for 2021.

It was originally scheduled for February 3-6 in the Dallas suburb of Grapevine.

“This difficult decision was based upon many factors, including the best interest for the health and safety of all participants, exhibitors and vendors,” said Michael Miller, board president for the event, in a communication to registered attendees.

Organizers didn’t convert to a virtual event, in part, because they didn’t believe it would best serve customers, said Blaine Siske of Mpire Management Group, the Irving, Texas company that manages the convention. “We’re a regional show with the opportunity for regional salesfolks to meet their customers,” he said. “Once you go virtual, you lose that regionality.”

All attendees and exhibitors will receive refunds, he added. While room reservations at the host hotel should be canceled automatically, organizers recommend verifying with the venue.

The next Southwest Pool & Spa Show is expected to take place in San Antonio during the third week of January, 2022.
