Custom Molded Products recently acquired Aqua Sun Ozone, marking the Newnan, Ga.-based manufacturer’s third acquisition in less than a year.

CMP, supplier of pool and spa sanitation systems and lighting products, began its buying streak in August of last year with DEL Ozone and Saline Generating Systems in March.

This latest transaction is a direct result of the DEL purchase.

“As we were understanding the DEL business, both before and after the transaction, ASO kept coming up as a strong competitor of DEL,” said CEO Bill Drury.

ASO was founded by Desiree Otero in 1994. Like DEL Ozone, it produces water-treatment systems for hot tub manufacturers. By bringing these companies into the fold, CMP is well positioned to benefit from the growing portable spa market, Drury said.

ASO’s manufacturing facility will remain in Palm Springs, Calif. with current leadership intact.

The transaction also allows for ASO to take advantage of CMP’s sales and distribution channels and support for product development.

“CMP is great for ASO, and we feel confident they will supply additional opportunities for the brand,” Otero said in a press statement.
