Big Three manufacturer Fluidra has acquired Built Right.

Based in Punta Gorda, Fla., the 10-year-old company manufactures pool heat pumps, largely serving the Sunshine State, which holds the largest market for that product category.

According to Fluidra, the purchase closed in January and included all of Built Right’s substantial assets.

“Built Right has an excellent reputation for quality and service,” said Troy Franzen, president Fluidra North America. “And because it is based in Florida — the largest heat pump territory in the U.S. — it will put us closer to our core heat pump customer.”

Built Right will retain its branding and remain in its current location, Franzen said.

“There are no plans to change the Built Right product line — it will be business as usual.”

Its staff will also remain in place, with the exception of the company founder, who will pursue other business opportunities.

Fluidra North America is the company that used to be known as Zodiac Pool Systems. It took on that name in 2018, after merging with the global manufacturer/distributor Fluidra. The multinational firm, Fluidra, is publicly traded and operates in more than 45 countries.
