The Master Pools Guild has started a new tradition.

In July, the Richmond, Va.-based builders group held a business education summit in Dallas. Sixty-five professionals attended, including Guild members and invited guests from National Swimming Pool Foundation/Genesis.

The two-day course was intended for company executives and featured two educators from PoolCorp — Danny Tarleton, corporate director of sales and employee development; and Laura Goodman, employee development manager.

Master Pools plans another business education summit next summer, also in Dallas, said the organization’s executive director, Dick Covert. With the changing business environment, his group identified the need for more leadership development education, he said.

“Everybody was so excited for the opportunity,” he said. “We had many companies bring two generations, and it was great to see and experience the sharing from generation to generation and company to company,” Covert said.

Attendees were eligible to earn continuing education credits from NSPF.
