Poolwerx has added two franchisees in Southern California, including a former member of the APSP Retail Council.

Cal Boothby and his wife Sharon have added their operation — Redlands Pool and Spa Center — to Poolwerx roster of locations in the Sunbelt.

Poolwerx also announced the addition of Steve and Elise Donohoe in Mission Viejo, Calif., who now will add a retail operation to their long-time service company as part of its transition.

Cal Boothby, whose company is located in the San Bernardino county city of Redlands, is well known among retailers involved with the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals. The Boothbys’ company, founded in 1984, includes one retail store, 11 mobile units and 24 staffers.

“This was certainly the right move for us, as we were looking for a path to formalize our business and the operational platform we’d built over the years, and Poolwerx was the right partner to help us achieve that” Cal Boothby said.

With the two additions, Poolwerx’s U.S. arm now includes 32 stores, 179 service vehicles and 66 franchised territories. Between the U.S. and Australia, where the company originates, it has 150 stores and 500 service vehicles.

Last spring, the franchiser debuted its U.S. training facilities and corporate headquarters, located in Dallas.
