APSP Debuts Online Retail Certification Course

The curriculum introduces the core principles of pool and spa operations and best practices for sales and customer service.

The Association of Pool and Spa Professionals rolled out a new online course specifically for retailers.

The Certified Pool & Spa Retail Professional course is an eight-hour, self-paced online program designed to give students a strong foundation to run a retail business. The curriculum introduces the core principles of pool and spa operations and best practices for sales and customer service. Topics include: pool finishes, pool and spa circulation systems, basic water chemistry, retail environment safety, customer service and sales and retail housekeeping.

“We are excited to offer quality training programs to our retail segment,” Silvia Uribe, APSP director of education, stated in a press release. “Retailers are on the front line of business and through quality education we can ensure that we have a more educated sales force that has the tools they need to confidently assist customers and increase sales.”

Those who successfully complete the course can take the exam either at regional or chapter events, through a scheduled proctored exam or on-site at a regional event.
