NC Brands, a Norwalk, Conn.-based manufacturer of pool and spa chemical products, has acquired the assets of Aqualus, a Dade City, Fla. technology company.

Aqualus provides pool and spa companies with water-soluble pouches specifically designed to be compatible with the chemical being contained and distributed.

NC Brands made the move because it believes Aqualus’ technology will bring unique benefits to the pool and spa industry, said Mark Munford, CEO of the acquiring company.

The manufacturing of Aqualus’ products will be integrated into NC Brands’ production facility, said Kate Thielscher, president of NC Brands. “We are gearing up to meet the demand for a segment that we anticipate will deliver explosive growth for our company.”

NC Brands also acquired Red Leopard in October 2015 and SeaKlear in May 2006.
