Steele’s Signature Pools - Best in Competition

The latest class of companies honored by the Northeast Spa and Pool Association shows off the range of the industry.

Each year, NESPA — made up of Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania — recognizes its best builders, retailers and service firms.

Judges choose which builders and retailers to award, while the service contest is based on customer feedback.

The winners were announced last month at The Pool & Spa Show powered by NESPA in Atlantic City. There, the contest became interactive, when attendees voted for their favorite, which was deemed the People’s Choice award, shown opposite.

Northeast Service Gold

To choose its gold-medal pool/spa service companies, NESPA seeks direct customer feedback. Each company that enters the contest provides information on its customers, including full-time clients as well as those who only receive seasonal services such as openings and closings. The judging team then randomly selects some of the customers and surveys them. In addition to rating the company’s quality in performing the technical aspects of the job, customers score response times when problems arise; the company’s overall service department; their service technician’s professionalism, customer service and communication; whether the client would recommend the company to someone they know; and overall performance.
