Pool-building and service franchise Premier Pools Management Corp. is undergoing an aggressive growth spurt, which recently carried the company past a significant milestone.

With the recent signing of an operation in Chico, Calif., the firm reached 100 locations between its pool construction and pool service franchises. But it quickly grew to nearly 110. It now has a presence in at least 33 states. Company CEO Paul Porter expects the Premier brand in several more states by year’s end.

In 2020, Premier signed 32 locations, while this year has seen 17 to date.

Last year, it began installing fiberglass pools and recruiting existing fiberglass installers as part of its strategy. This was spurred in part when fiberglass-pool manufacturer Latham Pool Products purchased 28% of the company.

This year, Premier expects to build more than 6,000 pools — about 1,500 of them fiberglass, compared with 250 last year, Porter said. He also projects $700 million in sales for the company.

Premier Pools & Spas, the builder, was founded in 1988 and took on the franchise model in 2014. Premier Pool Service launched in 2017 as a franchise.
