Pecoraro used elevation to create separate rooms, only working in reverse. The circular dining room area surrounded by auditorium stairs and a fire pit are sunken to provide a feeling of privacy. The auditorium stairs near the dining room add to a feeling of seclusion.

“You feel like you’re a little bit secluded in there, but yet without a dungeon feel because you don’t have these walls all the way around you,” Pecoraro says.
