More than 1,000 units in the U.S. and Canada have been affected.

A hot tub manufacturer has voluntarily issued a recall for one of its products using the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Fast Track Recall process.

Earlier this month, Chandler, Ariz.-based MAAX Spas recalled all of its hot tubs and swim spas featuring a Delta UV generator, model No. EA-4H-5.

According to a press release, the generator could ignite when in use and poses a fire hazard. Although there have been at least six incidents reported that include damage to the generators and surrounding hot tub or swim spa components, no one was hurt.

The recall impacts approximately 500 units sold in the United States and 630 units sold in Canada between January 2012 and July 2015.

Consumers should immediately stop using the product and contact a dealer for repair, or for more information, contact MAAX at 800-413-2704 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Arizona local time, Monday through Friday, email at duvrepair@maaxspas.com or online at www.maaxspas.com or www.deltaUVrepair.com.
