Poolwerx

Rounding out its third year in the United States, retail/service franchiser Poolwerx recently added three locations for a total of 31.

The Brisbane, Australia-based firm signed with Manning Pools of Pensacola, Fla., as well as Dallas-based California Pools, a company not affiliated with the chain based in the Golden State.

California Pools, a 64-year-old business, adds two stores to Poolwerx’s U.S. network, while Manning Pools brings one.

The former owners of California Pools, Ed and Karen Listol, are retiring from the industry. (Ed Listol is pictured second from right.) The new owners and franchisees, Thomas Gutierrez and Jeremy Swearengin (pictured from left), come from outside the industry.

The former owners of 35-year-old Manning Pools, Clark and John Manning, also left their company. The operation was purchased by existing Poolwerx franchisee Tony Walton, who runs several dual-branded Poolwerx/Barrier Reef locations.
