As it prepares for its annual conference February 8-10, the National Plasterers Council has plenty to report.
Regarding the event, NPC will offer what may be a first for the industry: Immediate closed captioning in Spanish in all seminars. The organization has invested in software to translate the instructors’ presentations in real time. An all-day Spanish-language start-up class also will be presented.
“There’s a big movement here to serve that side of our workforce,” said NPC Executive Director Jeff Henderson.
Other educational highlights include a day-long class on pool shell preparation.
Also at the conference, the Young Professionals group will hold its second gathering, providing the opportunity for newer pool/spa plasterers to network.
After the conference closes, recordings of most classes will be made available virtually to those who attended in person, so they don’t have to miss out on any of the sessions.
NPC plans to roll out some new initiatives as well. First, it will unveil its new website, merging its separate consumer-facing and industry sites. The group also is targeting the conference to release the latest version of its Tech Manual, with many of the changes made to clarify or streamline language.
