Pool equipment and supplies manufacturer Pentair Aquatic Systems has received the 2019 Energy Star Partner of the Year — Sustained Excellence Award for continued leadership and superior contributions to the program.

This makes the sixth time the Sanford, N.C. manufacturer, one of the so-called Big 3, has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its energy-efficiency achievements. To qualify for the Sustained Excellence Award, a company must have received the Partner of the Year designation at least twice in a row. The organization was honored by the EPA and the U.S. Department of Energy at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 11.

Since 2007, Pentair estimates that its pool pumps have helped consumers save $1.9 billion, or 18 billion kilowatt hours of energy, preventing the release of 14 million tons of carbon dioxide.
